Each person has its own idiosyncrasies. They have different ways of behaving, thinking, or feeling which is peculiar to an individual or group, especially an odd or unusual one. For a person to become say, expert in dealing with people, one should accept each one’s uniqueness. No matter what the cost.
Most of the times friendships and relationships are broken by mere pity misunderstandings. One cannot accept the other’s diversities. The other one is looking at oneself in others. As a result, if expectations are stymied frustrations comes in.
The art of getting along with people is really complicated. It would require extra effort to accept a person for what he or she is. It may also demand giving of oneself for the other.
However, no matter how difficult it can be if one would only look up to our Lord Jesus Christ and His teachings which tells us that the greatest love is by giving of one’s life for the sake of our brothers or sisters in Christ, no problem could crop up since everyone will be thinking what is good for the other and not just for oneself.
Some say that dealing with people is truly an art because for you to get along well you have to apply diverse schemes to know the strength and weaknesses of the target person you are interested to be with. You may have the looks but if you do not have that charismatic appeal, you may find it harder to be with others for a longer period of time. They would easily get bored.
Having a sense of humor is also a very good tool in winning friends. Being natural in words, acts or in deeds, plays a big role in gaining true friends than being pretentious. Be yourself and do not feign affection. Honesty and respect for others is the great foundation for every relationship.
How about you? How far have you gone in gaining friends? How long did you stay in a relationship, be it friends or lovers?

How To Cope Up With Frustrations
The result of 2007 Philippine Bar Examinations was released very recently. Out of the more than 5,000 Examinees, only 1,200 plus, made it. For those who passed, I believe their feelings are so great as if they are in Cloud 9. For those who did not make it, mixed emotions can haunt them. Questions will certainly arise as to how come that he did not pass especially those who really gave his all to attain his goal of becoming a lawyer.
One can become so lonely and even spend his solitude in a place where he could be left alone wondering what happened along the way during the waiting period from the last day of the Bar Examinations until the results has been released. Where did he failed and why? To the extent of asking God, why?
Encountering frustrations in life has many lessons to learn. One can arrive at a very wise conclusion, that, God has better plans than what we have. He knows better than we do. Most of the times, we cannot understand His ways. His ways are indeed not our ways. All we have to do is to trust in what God can do for all of us. If we surrender everything to Him, we will not linger on our isolation. We have to move on and look for His will.
Failing the Bar, is not the end but a beginning of a new dimension in a Bar flanker’s life. It should serve as a challenge and not a loss. There is much better life than lingering on one’s frustrations. One has just to look around him, consider others and not focus on one’s self.
Life on earth is temporal and everything is merely vanities. They are just pride of life. It is really very hard to accept one’s failure if one is focusing on what other people might say and think. It is just pride and nothing else. Fear of failing is the most pusillanimous or cowardly act. Also, pride is the greatest source of sins which is the reason why the first man and woman failed God.
Coping up with frustrations and standing still, focusing onwards to a goal of reaching the most important things in our lives, which is by looking for God’s approval until that day when we will be facing Him can certainly help one to move on.
Rather than feeling frustrated, looking gloomy because of so many failures, all we have to do is smile and think of that day when God will come face to face and ask us, how did you spend your life and how have you loved? Where you able to save other people by showing others that the most important thing in ones life is by following all the teachings of our Lord Jesus and loving God with whole of our minds, with whole of our hearts and with whole of our souls.
What about you, how did you cope up with your frustrations? Or, have experienced being frustrated?

The Benefit from Garlic
Unlocking the Benefits of Garlic
I just want to share this e-mail for me about what makes garlic good for you? (Chris Ramirez for The New York Times)
According to the sender, Garlic has long been touted as a health booster, but it’s never been clear why the herb might be good for you. Now new research is beginning to unlock the secrets of the odoriferous bulb.
In a study published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers show that eating garlic appears to boost our natural supply of hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide is actually poisonous at high concentrations — it’s the same noxious byproduct of oil refining that smells like rotten eggs. But the body makes its own supply of the stuff, which acts as an antioxidant and transmits cellular signals that relax blood vessels and increase blood flow.
In the latest study, performed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, researchers extracted juice from supermarket garlic and added small amounts to human red blood cells. The cells immediately began emitting hydrogen sulfide, the scientists found.
The power to boost hydrogen sulfide production may help explain why a garlic-rich diet appears to protect against various cancers, including breast, prostate and colon cancer, say the study authors. Higher hydrogen sulfide might also protect the heart, according to other experts. Although garlic has not consistently been shown to lower cholesterol levels, researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine earlier this year found that injecting hydrogen sulfide into mice almost completely prevented the damage to heart muscle caused by a heart attack.
“People have known garlic was important and has health benefits for centuries,'’ said Dr. David W. Kraus, associate professor of environmental science and biology at the University of Alabama. “Even the Greeks would feed garlic to their athletes before they competed in the Olympic games.'’
Now, the downside. The concentration of garlic extract used in the latest study was equivalent to an adult eating about two medium-sized cloves per day. In such countries as Italy, Korea and China, where a garlic-rich diet seems to be protective against disease, per capita consumption is as high as eight to 12 cloves per day.
While that may sound like a lot of garlic, Dr. Kraus noted that increasing your consumption to five or more cloves a day isn’t hard if you use it every time you cook. Dr. Kraus also makes a habit of snacking on garlicky dishes like hummus with vegetables.
Many home chefs mistakenly cook garlic immediately after crushing or chopping it, added Dr. Kraus. To maximize the health benefits, you should crush the garlic at room temperature and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes. That triggers an enzyme reaction that boosts the healthy compounds in garlic.
Garlic can cause indigestion, but for many, the bigger concern is that it can make your breath and sweat smell like…garlic. While individual reactions to garlic vary, eating fennel seeds like those served at Indian restaurants helps to neutralize the smell. Garlic-powder pills claim to solve the problem, but the data on these supplements has been mixed. It’s still not clear if the beneficial compounds found in garlic remain potent once it’s been processed into a pill.
